Journaling Brand Website Design

Website Design & Copywriting

The Process: ThinkPlay was a very unique design project for many reasons one being that it’s actually my brand and it doesn’t exist yet. ThinkPlay was an idea I had years ago about creating a journal that was aesthetic enough that it felt like an extension of your home decor but functional enough for people who were new to journaling to really dive in. The branding was done by Alissa Martin- a freelancer based out of New York. She crushed it with the selection of colors, logo design, and font selection. I built upon the branding she did for me for the full website design and copy. Below is the original mood board that captures how I wanted the website to feel.

After I have a moodboard, I’ll play around with style tiles. This is usually where I’ll mess with different color combinations and font pairings, but in this instance Alissa already did that for us! So instead I designed different buttons and started sourcing images as inspiartion.

Once we have colors, fonts, and buttons, I’ll build out a framework for at least the homepage in Figma. What I design in Figma doesn’t always make it to Squarespace but the last step is building out the full design in Squarespace.
