Spec Work Website Redesign

The Process: Spicy Librabrian is a romance book store that opened in January 2025. I’ve been incredibly inspired by their business and wanted to offer up my services for a website re-design. I pulled some color inspiration for their current website and riffed off of that to get the full palette.

After I have a moodboard, I’ll play around with style tiles. This is usually where I’ll mess with different color combinations and font pairings. For the Spicy Librarian website, I was really inspired by typewriters and wanted the font pairing to reflect that sort of style.

Once we have colors, fonts, and buttons, I’ll build out a framework for at least the homepage in Figma. What I design in Figma doesn’t always make it to Squarespace but the last step is building out the full design in Squarespace.
